- Cover removal. The cover comes off first because it is the easiest piece to handle separately. Most covers are dumpster-grade material.
- Cabinet removal or in-place demolition. If the tub can be flipped on its side and rolled out through a clear path, we lift and walk. If it is built into a deck or recessed in a way that does not permit removal whole, we cut it apart in place using sawzalls and reciprocating saws.
- Disposal. The shell, the cabinet, the cover, the pumps, the heater. All to a licensed disposal facility. Steel components recycled.

- Surrounding structure. A freestanding tub with no surround is easy. A tub built into a redwood deck with a flagstone surround takes longer to extract without damaging the deck or the surround the family wants to keep.
- Electrical. Plug-in disconnect is straightforward. Hardwired disconnect requires the electrician fee.
